BADAJOZ is right next to the Portuguese border and is synonymous of tranquillity and calm. Find yourself surrounded by museums while going for a stroll in the old town where the Muslim legacy in the city brings a stunning castle, full of history and art, with an incredible view.
Migas Extremeñas ( bread, chorizo, torreznos, garlic, egg and peppers)
Playa de Cheles, even though Badajoz does not have a beach, the construction of a dam in the river lead to a natural beach in an unique atmosphere. It is a perfect plan to enjoy a family and friends day and see Portugal on the other side of the lake.
Outside the city
During the entire month you will be able to enjoy the Museo del Carnaval in the city of Badajoz where you will be able to see the traditional fancy dresses from the famous Carnival of Badajoz and the celebrations its citizens celebrate every year. It’s a living and dynamic place where you will be surrounded by fun.
Badajoz has its own airport with plenty of links to Barcelona and Madrid. However, there is no international airport in the city. Lisbon and Seville are the closest international airports. We recommend to spend 1 day in the city and 2 days in the region.
