BILBAO is made by beautiful architecture and modern art, where the Guggenheim Museum is the point of reference for everyone. Thanks to the green landscape and mountains, this is a perfect place to enjoy fresh air and nature. The dinning scene in Bilbao is one of the best of the country. The variety of pintxos is the best decoration for the bars, which becomes in some places art!

Iconic dish

Bacalao al pil pil (cod).

In the city

Walk along La Ria (the river), click here to find one of our favourites walk, starting from  Atxuri. Also, get one of the best views of the city by cable car from  Artxanda Mount (Artxanda hill).

Board a boat and discover the city and the sea, find the trips here.

Go for pintxos (how tapas are called in Pais Vasco) in different areas of Bilbao, find all the info here. For restaurants we recommend: Bar Ojeda with great traditional Spanish food and Bar Peso Neto with a great atmosphere.

Charge your batteries

Gaztelugatxe is one of the most amazing places in Spain and is the house of Khaleesi in Game of Thrones. Fancy for some sports? try surfing at Sopelana beach.

Outside the city
May  events

Between the 2nd and the 12th the streets of Bilbao will be surrounded by art with the arrival of Semana de las Artes Festival where different areas of the city will offer exhibitions, street art and different cultural proposals.

From the 12th until the 21st Bilbao celebrates the Holy Week with stunning processions surrounding the city. Their patrimony consists of real treasures of religious imagery, by artists such as Juan de Mesa, Raimundo Zapuz, Quintín de la Torre or Higinio Basterra.

April  events

Bilbao has its own international airport well connected by bus to the city centre. We recommend to stay 2 days in Bilbao but we recommend 5 if you want to discover the provinces and its beaches.
