Go for pintxos (how tapas are called here) at the "Old town area" where you can find a big variety of bars and restaurants. We recommend La Mejillonera and Zurri Jatetxea where we recommend the lunch menu (menu del dia) for an affordable price.
Outside the city
If you are on and about San Sebastian on the 31st you will be able to enjoy the beautiful cultural festival Olatutalka where artist show their work and share their knowledge with the visitors. The whole city will be surrounded by art, music, dance, literature and theatre.
Between the 4th and 8th head to Zarautz to enjoy the Surf World Championship. It doesn’t matter if you are a surfer or not, seeing the surfers fighting the waves is just amazing.
San Sebastian has just a domestic airport. If you are visiting this city directly from a foreign country land in Bilbao airport which is just 1 hour by bus. We recommend to spend 1 day in the city and 2-3 discovering the region of Guipuzcoa.
